One final post before the big event. A big thanks to everyone who pulled together to make this happen and especially to everyone who signed up and contributed to the toy drive. As of this evening we have 91 people registered! That’s a great number for this inaugural event! Trader Joes has donated refreshments and our resident DJ, Shahab Farzanegan, has put together a mix to get your blood pumping.
A few updates for race day: Packet pickup will begin at 8:00. We will have badges and shirts for everyone who ordered them by the August 4th deadline. We’re taking orders for another run of the shirts as an extended opportunity to contribute towards the cause. The price for the shirts is now $15 to cover the cost of shipping.
The raffle will begin at 11:30 and you need to be present to win. In addition to the four $50 gift cards from Sportsman’s Warehouse, we also have 2 tickets to the Evergreen Aviation Museum to raffle off. Just put your ticket in the pot and if we draw the number that matches your badge you could win one of these great prizes!
Good news: The course is well marked and there will be no parking permit required on the wildlife area for this event. The bad news: We have a healthy crop of poison oak growing on the wildlife area. Please follow the arrows and stay on course. There will be several portapotties available, so don’t be tempted to duck into the bushes. We will also have first aid kits at every activity station, just in case. The path along the southern-most section has a couple of rough spots, so be careful out there.
Most importantly . . . HAVE FUN!
